My autumnal style

Autumn leaves come falling down
Red, orange, yellow,
Brown
Down, down down
🍂 🍁 🍂 🍁 🍂 🍁 🍂

I’ve been enjoying autumn this year because it’s been a very mild one. Back in September we had a heatwave when the temperatures reached low 30s (I remember that week clearly because I was so ill with a cold. My husband did a fine job looking after me but what with being an adult, life goes on and things need doing, all I really wanted was being a kid and having my mum or dad nurse me back to normal) and October has been impressively sunny and warm too. Finally, when the nighttime temperatures started hitting below double figures, I realised I could do with more layers on me.  My winter clothes tend to be black but my autumns are brown. So here I am with one of my favourite outfits going for a Sunday walk. 👜 🕶 Continue reading “My autumnal style “

Luxury pyjamas by The Reach London

Pyjama or not pyjama? Perhaps not during summer but winter is coming… Even if it promises up to 31 degrees in London next week 🙂 but soon it’s time to cosy up in something comfy! When The Reach London contacted me about their Kickstarter campaign asking for support in launching a new luxury pyjama collection, I must say I was very keen to collaborate with them.

HIIT for beginners (infographic)

This is a guest blog from My Fitness Boutique, a gym based in north London. They’ve produced an infographic on “HIIT for Beginners”, a guide to high intensity interval training (HIIT).

I decided to publish it on my blog as I quite enjoy throwing in some HIIT workouts myself. I like the way you can tailor them by difficulty, length and intensity. It offers a lot of variety and a great way to mix it up with my regular running sessions. In the summer months I prefer working out outdoors anyway (I hate gyms) and what better way to do it than with some body weight exercises and running. I hope you enjoy the read and the infographic too! Continue reading “HIIT for beginners (infographic)”

Stone Free Festival

Something you probably didn’t know about me – I like rock music. More specifically, prog rock, and that’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea ;). I’ve got my dad to either thank or blame for it as I grew up with him listening to Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and other obvious rock legends such as Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple just to name a few. My earliest memory is watching Yes music videos and being mesmerised by the piano virtuoso Rick Wakeman and his unreal handling of multiple keyboards. Lanzarote – the island of black sand and so much more!

I finally got around to organising all the holiday photos on my phone! About a month ago we had the pleasure of staying at our friends’ villa in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. In return, Marc did some bump and family photography ;).

It was such an amazing week off! I had no idea Lanzarote had that kind of scenery. From black volcanic rock fields, black sand, red mountains to bright blue ocean and golden yellow beaches. This island has colour and such diversity: volcanoes (Timanfaya National Park), vineyards placed on the foot of the black hills, salt mines (Janubio), irresistible sunsets, caves (Cueva de los Verdes), cute fishing villages dotted around and some of the most scenic beaches I’ve ever seen (Playa de Papagayo). One year of blogging

A year ago I set up my lifestyle blog and if I’m totally honest, I didn’t have a plan. A strategy. A content calendar. What kind of marketer am I?! 🙂 But perhaps because I spend a lot of time planning and strategising in Excel at work that I felt, no, my blog doesn’t need a strict posting schedule. For once, I’ll just take a really laid back approach to this. So, I think I really did. Which is why this will be more my reflection of the past year and less about giving advice for people who want to start blogging. I’m not here to give someone the ABCs of lifestyle blogging because I’m no expert either. Just do what feels right! ❤ Continue reading “One year of blogging”

Bourjois 3 for 2

A pretty pink Bourjous purchase from Boots. I only went in for a new foundation as my skin tone is getting darker (summer is coming!) and there was an offer. And I didn’t even buy a foundation :D. They didn’t have a dark enough shade so I ended up getting a primer instead. There is no logic, I know! Then I decided a new mascara and eye pencil/liner were also due. I’ve already started using them all and here’s my feedback: Continue reading “Bourjois 3 for 2”
