I had a layover in Helsinki on my way back from my recent trip to Estonia and had time to do some airport shopping. Finnair flight magazine had an article about Lumene‘s rebranding story, how they wanted to strengthen the image on a global scale as well as within its native market of Finland. As the products are also on sale in Estonia I’m quite familiar with them so I definitely wanted to be able to take a peek at the new range and design. I ended up buying these two from their Invisible Illumination range:

Hair care products’ review
I haven’t done a product review post for a long time but as I have become to love two particular hair products this summer, I thought I’d share my thoughts with the blogosphere. Continue reading “Hair care products’ review”
Aloe Vera, Lemon and Green Tea Soaps
My next attempt at making soaps with a new recipe, in fact, a completely made up and unique one! Continue reading “Aloe Vera, Lemon and Green Tea Soaps”
Bourjois 3 for 2
A pretty pink Bourjous purchase from Boots. I only went in for a new foundation as my skin tone is getting darker (summer is coming!) and there was an offer. And I didn’t even buy a foundation :D. They didn’t have a dark enough shade so I ended up getting a primer instead. There is no logic, I know! Then I decided a new mascara and eye pencil/liner were also due. I’ve already started using them all and here’s my feedback: Continue reading “Bourjois 3 for 2”
Beauty products in Lanzarote
During our recent holiday to Lanzarote I was quite interested in local skincare range and was happy to find some lovely lavender products. I just like lavender, ok?! 🙂 After my own experiments with making soaps of goat’s milk soap base, I’m excited to try this one made on the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura: Continue reading “Beauty products in Lanzarote “
Homemade soaps
Last week I set up a “soap factory” in our kitchen ;). Under the watchful eye of our kitten I mixed some goat’s milk soap base with purple colouring and essential oils. A recipe I had found on Dr. Axe. Very easy to make and the soaps are free of harmful chemicals!
The mix gets poured into the moulds:

L’Occitane Verbena Range
Verbena
Among all the aromatic herbs that grow along the paths of Provence, there is one whose lemony freshness revives the body and mind. Its name is Verbena.
When baskets are piled high with freshly harvested green verbena leaves, its distinctive fragrance fills the air around the markets of Provence.
Homemade lip balm – Handmade by Livia
Back in October I went to Homemade Beauty Products Workshop organised by Midas Touch Crafts and got inspired by it to make some beauty products myself. The workshop covered how to make hairspray, lip balm and scrub, and body scrub. Out of all of those I decided lip balm was the easiest and started to look up recipes online as I didn’t particularly like the contents we used at the workshop.
As the obsession suggests, I like lavender so I definitely wanted a recipe including lavender essential oil. I found one that had very simple ingredients: Continue reading “Homemade lip balm – Handmade by Livia”
Skin3 4th birthday
Last Thursday I was invited to Skin3 salon’s 4th birthday. I’ve been a regular there for over a year and I was delighted to be invited to celebrate with the staff and other customers. The prosecco was flowing and the canapés served were mouthwatering. I brought along a friend who is a fellow Environ products convert and were extremely delighted with the gift bag containing: Continue reading “Skin3 4th birthday”
e.l.f. Makeup & Cosmetics is back!
I got an email from e.l.f. (stands from eyes, lips and face) announcing they’re back in the UK market and encouraging you to get back to your regularly scheduled beauty fix today! 😉
I ordered some of their products last summer but then at some point I noticed nothing was on sale on their website and I’m not sure what had happened. But hey, now they’re back and I cannot wait to browse.
Their range consists of more than 1000 different products including glosses, bronzers, eyeshadow pallettes, brushes, blushes, mineral makeup and much, much more. And the best bit of all?… prices start from just £1.95!
Who else is excited? Continue reading “e.l.f. Makeup & Cosmetics is back!”
