Staycation in the UK

Summer couldn’t come fast enough this year! This is my first spring in the UK when the sun is taking its longest to come out and warm up the pale limbs that have been covered up for the whole winter. To be fair, it wasn’t too long ago when we were enjoying a trip of a lifetime in amazing South Africa, our honeymoon in fact, and the photo above is me frolicking on a beach somewhere on the Garden Route. November seems like ages ago… A few of my friends have already been on their hot sunny holidays abroad and I’m slowly losing my patience here and cannot wait until I can start wearing everything in my summer wardrobe.

After an eventful 2014 with getting married and honeymooning we decided to have a low-key holiday at home, a staycation in July with a rental car! How glamorous but I’m so excited! 😉 Destinations on our route include Cotswolds and Cornwall (never been before). We will be staying in a gorgeous B&B whilst in Cornwall, Trevose Harbour House, and I will definitely be blogging about it after. All we need is dry and warm enough weather and I’ll be happy and if we get a day on the beach that would be a great bonus. Continue reading “Staycation in the UK”

Why I like to sweat every now and then

I think by nature I’m lazy. I’m not a strong believer of star sign characteristics but if there is anything that truly speaks about Tauruses, then in my case, it’s laziness or is it more to do with comfort-loving? Apparently I won’t move a muscle till I’m motivated to get up and work ;). It’s not actually true but what I did notice a long time ago when I gave up fencing is that if I wasn’t forced I wouldn’t do any sports. That lasted for a while and mind you, what I did for eight years, was quite strenuous – there were weeks (years!) of five-day training plus competitions over the weekends. When I graduated from high school I probably just wanted to give myself a break from fencing! Continue reading “Why I like to sweat every now and then”

Trash the Dress

It took me a little while to set this blog up the way I wanted and I’m pretty pleased with my customised header and categories I’m planning to write about. And here’s my first post and this is going under my exciting life in W9 ;).

A couple of weeks ago my husband, who is also a part-time professional photographer, asked to use our local pub Prince Alfred as a photoshoot setting and as it was quite last minute he couldn’t get any models who wanted to pay :P, it was up to me and Lina to rock our frocks. Lina and I were the lovely brides of W9 last year, both getting married with only a month apart, and now we’re even lovelier wives of W9!

We both wore our civil ceremony dresses and didn’t do anything too trashy, we wanted a fun classy shoot in our favourite local that’s been covered up in plastic and slightly ripped apart = prepared for renovations. So, take a look (click on the image to see more)!

#badasswives: Today we recommend Marriage

Very pleased with the result, just couldn’t be happier to have a great photographer at hand whenever I feel like dressing up, be it a wedding gown or something more casual. We still have our wedding reception dresses to trash but haven’t figured out the concept yet. So stay tuned…
