Our daughter spent her first two years in London and she won’t have any memory of it but at least she will have plethora of photos and videos to enjoy when she’s older. After just having moved from London to Tallinn I’ve already begun reminiscing about my time spent with her there and I thought I’d make a list of things we liked to do or places to go.

Working mum and stay at home mum experiences
I became a stay at home mum (SAHM) when our daughter turned one last year. For many reasons it didn’t make sense to return to a full-time job and pay a large amount of my salary to a nursery. The company I was supposed to go back to didn’t offer flexible working hours, otherwise I might have even considered it but I wasn’t a big fan of the company culture in the first place so it wasn’t very difficult to make that big decision. Our struggle with tonsillitis
She’s only 13 months old and already suffering from tonsillitis! She had a cold more than a week ago but was feeling and looking well last week on Wednesday when I took her swimming. Massive mum guilt here because the next day she looked and felt miserable. Very clingy, wanted to be held and cuddled all the awake times. It reminded me of the newborn days when I found it hard to put her down as she’d start crying soon after. Continue reading “Our struggle with tonsillitis”
Water wobbles – tips to help toddlers with water anxiety
We’ve been swimming with Water Babies since she was 11 weeks old and it’s been one of the baby/toddler activities that I used to look forward to the most. Used to… When she turned one she completely changed in the water – she is clingy, going underwater scares her, pretty much everything that we were able to do previously, she has a problem with. She still loves bath time so it didn’t make any sense until our instructor explained the water wobbles. Continue reading “Water wobbles – tips to help toddlers with water anxiety”
Where did the year go?
I’m posting this a day before our little girl’s first birthday and I’m sat here going through the birth in my head again. The first months of her life are a blur but her birth is so fresh in my mind like it happened yesterday. It wasn’t traumatic, it was a water birth, no drugs. Just gas and air and me breathing like Darth Vader. Continue reading “Where did the year go?”
World Breastfeeding Week
As the World Breastfeeding Week is ending, I thought of writing up my own story on this journey and a journey it has been.
The aim of this week is to raise awareness of the links between good nutrition and increase breastfeeding rates worldwide by supporting mothers to take up on it and also continue breastfeeding for at least the first six month of the baby’s life.
Maternity leave – it’s not all rock ‘n’ roll
I’m not rocking it but at least I’m rolling with it.
My baby girl turned six months old about a week ago and although we’re doing a lot better; might I say some days and nights are fantastic, with her napping perfectly and waking up only once a night (not sleeping through here yet!); there are still days when I miss weekend lie-ins. Doing nothing and going to bed really late not worrying that I will potentially have to be up in a few hours. I miss sitting in a pub drinking wine with friends. I miss lounging on the sofa, drinking coffee, reading a good book or binge watching something on Netflix. Continue reading “Maternity leave – it’s not all rock ‘n’ roll”
Another one on sleep 😴 💤
And the lack of it… Once you get used to better sleep and they start waking up frequently again…
I’m posting this when she’s already 5 months old but the messy month of January just didn’t allow me to relax, sit down and finish this blog post… ☹️. Continue reading “Another one on sleep 😴 💤”
No longer a newborn!
We’ve survived the fourth trimester! I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s gone incredibly fast even if each day has felt like an eternity. Continue reading “No longer a newborn!”
I’m a mum…
Our little miracle was born exactly on her due date. I’m glad someone’s in control here… and I do appreciate her punctuality, a good quality I hope she will keep 😊. She’s definitely calling the shots here now by taking over our lives and the whole responsibility still scares me and I feel I’m being challenged on a whole new level. Continue reading “I’m a mum…”
