Body positivity – believe in your body!

There’s actually a whole other reason why I shared this post on Instagram yesterday.

Body positivity weight loss mirena coil

Since having my daughter I’ve remained a bit heavier than in my pre-pregnancy days and I’ve been moaning about it for years because I absolutely didn’t want to buy a whole new wardrobe. By some miracle I’ve lost about 2kg since moving to Estonia and finally, this summer, I started to celebrate my body more again. Fine, I’m not as athletic as before and I’m now softer and curvier. But my belly is the softest pillow for my daughter when she cuddles up 😆 🧸. My goal is to lose a few more but I’m in no rush and what comes off slower stays off longer!
And before anyone slams me for wanting to lose only a few kilos ✋🏼 it’s my body and only I know when I’m happiest in my skin! Here’s to #mumbods, they’re all amazing!

Side effects of weaning from breastfeeding 🤱🏻

I recently weaned our daughter and am incredibly proud of myself as I managed to breastfeed for 16.5 months and only decided to give up because she was just losing interest. I had already cut down to a morning feed only and in the beginning of this year she looked like she didn’t even want that anymore either. Baby sleep app and anxiety

When our girl was born I found a very useful app to track the feeding and napping times. I fed on demand but still wanted to see how long had been since the last time and in terms of sleep it helped me to get an idea if she’s getting the recommended amount in total for her age group.  Continue reading “Baby sleep app and anxiety”

Our struggle with tonsillitis

She’s only 13 months old and already suffering from tonsillitis! She had a cold more than a week ago but was feeling and looking well last week on Wednesday when I took her swimming. Massive mum guilt here because the next day she looked and felt miserable. Very clingy, wanted to be held and cuddled all the awake times. It reminded me of the newborn days when I found it hard to put her down as she’d start crying soon after.  Continue reading “Our struggle with tonsillitis”

Water wobbles – tips to help toddlers with water anxiety

We’ve been swimming with Water Babies since she was 11 weeks old and it’s been one of the baby/toddler activities that I used to look forward to the most. Used to… When she turned one she completely changed in the water – she is clingy, going underwater scares her, pretty much everything that we were able to do previously, she has a problem with. She still loves bath time so it didn’t make any sense until our instructor explained the water wobbles.  Continue reading “Water wobbles – tips to help toddlers with water anxiety”

Our cat taught me mindfulness

London is hectic and noisy and a couple of years ago it really started to affect me. I was going through some stressful times back then, I was battling with infertility and eventually diagnosed with endometriosis. I was looking for ways to calm and ground myself. I took up running, yoga, and concentrated on blogging/writing about my thoughts, but also meditation and I started figuring out what mindfulness was. And who helped me the most? Our cat! Nearly at the end of my pregnancy…

The out of office message is on. Everything I know has been brain dumped to my replacement. I’m on maternity leave and it’s such a surreal feeling! Due date is in three weeks’ time and I hope I’ll get to enjoy quite a few lie-ins and plenty of rest.  Continue reading “Nearly at the end of my pregnancy…”

Pregnancy cravings – the weird and wonderful!

The cravings have actually been on a relatively normal side for me. Luckily I’ve had no sickness, just mild nausea in the evenings, and a significant drop in appetite overall. I’ve never been a big eater and prefer small meals but now, while being pregnant, I find it really difficult to finish my dinners. My husband finishes them for me and he’s probably growing with me too! 🙁 Continue reading “Pregnancy cravings – the weird and wonderful!”

Innocently Sweet – vegan dessert recipe book

I’m proud that a friend of mine, Chantal, has written this book because like most people (probably like you too), she loves desserts! 🙂 But it was driving her crazy that desserts always had to be naughty! So she wrote it with some educational material to begin with and included 34 amazing vegan recipes that are every spoonful nourishing and not at all guilty! Isn’t it great when you can have a treat that is not followed but a guilt trip down weight gain lane?

I’m also delighted to mention that some of the photos used in this book are taken by my husband Marc Mordant Photography. Continue reading “Innocently Sweet – vegan dessert recipe book”
